Mobile training in action

This DVD & mobile training project won recognition at the Communicators in Business 2007 award for best Video/DVD category.

16 practical training videos help engineers get to grips with new technology-high quality, factual, and as brief as possible.

The judges' citation states: "An exceptional piece of work with top marks for initial impact, content, imagery, production and audience appeal. The DVD technology is cleverly used, and users have an option to download to their PDA. The graphics are clear and relevant to the topic, there are no gimmicks and this will reflect in the success of the project".

The "PowerWise" education pack for primary schools, produced by charismavision for ScottishPower Energy Networks, has picked up two prestigious awards - the IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety & Health) Zurich Municipal Supreme Safety Award; and the DuPont International Safety Award 2007 for Innovation.

Designed for use in primary schools, the pack splits conveniently into age-related content for upper and lower classes. It contains lesson plans, board games, computer games, classroom games and posters to help teachers deliver safety messages whilst looking at the science of electricity.

This programme won silver in the health and safety category of the International Visual Communications Association awards.

The intended audience was individual workers employed by companies with Power Systems contracts.

The aim was to overcome the dry nature of safety rules and regulations, whilst making individual workers aware both of potential hazards they may face, and safe systems of work.

The judges' citation stated: "A practical, no frills tool, accurately targeted and perfectly crafted for the job it is required to do."

Cavern Quarter

The unsightly electricity substation in Mathew Street, Liverpool - which powered the Beatles as they played at the Cavern Club was an eyesore in an area drawing tourists from all over the world the Cavern Quarter.

Manweb's use of innovative lighting and design techniques transformed the substation, making it a valued part of the Mathew Street story.

The charismavision video production telling the story of the transformation won an award for creative excellence at the US International Film and Video festival.

The judges' citation stated: "An outstanding audio-visual production, entered into international competition."

Originally developed for exclusive use in Denmark as 'Bible Journey', this unique computer game was adapted linguistically, theologically and culturally by charismavision to make it suitable for use in British schools.

The British version, named Ultimate Adventure, was highly commended at the Sandford St Martin Trust RE Awards.

The judge's citation stated: "We were impressed with the interactivity and visual quality of the CD set which uses a video game format to help 812s explore the Bible."
